The most common question we get asked is ‘How do I become a Paramedic?’ or ‘What are my options to becoming a Paramedic?’
The first step is to attain an educational qualification e.g. Diploma of Emergency Health Care, as it is one of the most regulated and specialised industries that requires a highly skilled and trained workforce. After attaining the qualification, registration is required with the National Board who assesses you are suitably trained and qualified and meet the requirements for registration in your profession.
Students, medics, volunteer ambulance officers and EMTs DO NOT need to apply for registration but registration is open to anyone who can satisfy the Board they are qualified and suitable for registration.
